Born from the dream of one woman to dress up as a showgirl for Halloween (but who didn't feel quite right in the costume), Supercharge Me...30 Days Raw chronicles what happens when Jenna, the subject, eats only vegan, raw, organic food, and nothing else, for a month. Done in the style of "Supersize Me," the documentary showing what happens when you eat nothing but McDonalds for a month, the film follows Jenna from Sarasota, Florida to San Diego, where she began a 30-day raw food detox program (for those of us uninitiated to the wonders of raw food, those following the diet eliminate everything but uncooked "living" foods. These foods include organic fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, sprouted grains and juices. Some believe raw food to be more nutritious than cooked foods because the foods' digestive enzymes and nutrients are intact).
Following the diet isn't always easy, and the film chronicles the day-by-day struggles and triumphs of living on a raw food diet. Does Jenna make it to Halloween? You'll just have to check it out for yourself. The trailer is available at 30daysraw.com; the site says the film is to be released this summer, so if it isn't out already, it will be soon.
