Position: Attorney and Managing Director

Areas of Practice: Contracts and Agreements, Business Formation and Organization, Intellectual Property (Trademark), Licensing, Business Planning , Government Relations and Compliance.

Current Activities: In addition to representing his clients and managing the Firm, David serves as General Counsel and V.P. of Business Planning for ActKnowledge, Inc., an international social change consulting firm, where he works on expanding that firm’s Theory of Change methodology to social entrepreneurs and corporate CSR programs. David is also an Adjunct Professor at Parsons, the Newschool of Design (NYC), where he teaches International Business Agreements and is an active member of his faculty labor union, ACT-UAW Local 7902, and Adjunct Professor with the Fashion Institute of Technology’s Enterprise Center (NYC) where he regularly teaches courses on Legal Basics for Business; Negotiation; and Business Planning and Strategy. David is an active member of the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and is a frequent speaker and lecturer on “Entrepreneurship in the New Economy” and “Social Goals for Business.” David also serves as a Board Member and Legal Counsel for the Sustainable Style Foundation (SSF).

Education: Juris Doctor, University of New Hampshire School of Law (1996); Team Leader: 1995 Ruby R. Vale Interschool Corporate Moot Court Competition, Widener University School of Law (Delaware 1995); Bachelor of Arts, University of Southern Maine (1993); Phi Alpha Theta History Honors Society (1992-93), National Collegiate Honors Council Program Graduate (1993).

Prior experience: David has had a wide range of experience including founding, operating and selling several small businesses, practicing at a solicitor’s firm in the UK (Finers Stephens Innocent), working for the U.S. Federal Government (U.S. Small Business Administration), and as a Legal Editor and Director of Content Development with LexisNexis, a part of Reed Elsevier PLC.
