H&M | our guilty pleasure is Sustainable

April 14th, 2010

For years my guilty pleasure as I make my way into the different neighborhoods of Manhattan has been to pop into a H & M and get my quick, cute & trendy fix that I can wear right away. This spring H & M announced its fully sustainable collection. The Garden Collection for Spring 2010, full of fresh and lovely florals, is made using organic and recycled materials. All the garments have been produced using sustainable materials or using recycled PET bottles or textile waste. Amazing and super cute.

This season H & M is also bringing in their sustainable solution to summer festivals by launching  its third Fashion Against AIDS campaign on May 20, 2010. This will  include the first festival collection, with 25% of the sales donated to youth HIV/AIDS awareness projects. Sold through the Divided youth departments, the collection for both guys and girls will encompass the whole festival experience, from clothes and accessories through to tents and sleeping bags, all the while raising funds to promote the message of safe sex.

Two amazing reasons and really well thought out campaigns for a company who obviously gets it. kudos. RL
